Force sensors are mainly load-cells and can be found in many shapes for use in different applications. Load cells can be found as,

There are special types of sensors used to measure torsion force which looks like roods. Also there are weigh pads which used as mobile weighing platforms.

Bending beams are extensively used in electronic scales and S type used for hanging scales. Canister type is generally compression type and used in high load applications as weigh bridges, silo weighing etc.

Load cells are made of stainless steels and anodized aluminum is common in market and they come in different environmental protection standards as IP65, IP67 and IP68.
